Danko Jevtović elected Vice-Chair of the ICANN Board of Directors

04/10/2022

Danko Jevtović, member of the Serbian National Internet Domain Name Registry Foundation (RNIDS) Board of Governors, was elected as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) during the conference of this organisation held recently in Malaysia.

“My election as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors is a recognition of my work thus far in ICANN, but also entails a great responsibility towards the global Internet community. In the coming period, ICANN will focus on the implementation of major projects set in motion both before and after the pandemic, such as further expansion of top-level Internet domains, the programme of donations from the fund set up through the auction of domains, and the creation of a global system for access to registrant data,” said Jevtović, for whom this is a second term on the ICANN Board of Directors.

He was first elected as a member of the Board of Directors of ICANN in 2018, and then re-elected for a three-year term in 2021. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the RNIDS Board of Governors, and served as the Director of the RNIDS Foundation from 2013 to 2017. In addition to his involvement in RNIDS and ICANN, Jevtović has also been a member of the Board of CENTR (the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries), as well as having a successful entrepreneurial career for many years.

The leadership of the ICANN Board of Directors is chosen by members of the Board at the annual general meeting. This year’s host city for the AGM, which was held on 22/9/2022 as part of the ICANN 75 conference, was Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
