IDN encoder set at RNIDS Website

20/10/2010

RNIDS has set an IDN encoder at its Website, at IDN Encoder and, thus, provided the site visitors with the possibility to see how an IDN domain name is converted to its ACE (ASCII Compatible Encoding) form.

This conversion of the UNICODE domain name to its ACE form enables the Domain Name System (DNS) to recognise domain names written in a national script (for instance, in Cyrillic) and link them with corresponding Internet addresses.

A detailed explanation of what happens with IDN domain names before their use by DNS is available here.
