RNIDS hosted 24th CENTR Administrative Workshop

25/11/2011

CENTROn November 23rd, the Home of Serbian Internet Domains hosted representatives of the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries (CENTR). This association gathers organisations, corporate bodies or individuals operating a country code top level domain registry. The organisation has a European focus, but in addition to more than forty countries in the region, CENTR has members from a number of countries outside of Europe (such as Iran, Japan, New Zealand and Canada).

The objectives of CENTR are to promote and participate in the development of the high standard of Internet Country Code Top-Level Domain Registries (ccTLDs) for the benefit of both its members and the entire Internet. Together with similar organisations with focus on other regions of the world, CENTR is working on achieving its objectives through consensus building, coordination and collaboration, respecting cultural and historical diversities amongst ccTLDs and their Local Internet Communities.

RNIDS hosted 24th CENTR Administrative Workshop at the Home of Serbian Internet Domains. The workshop was organised by CENTR. Representatives of national registers from 16 countries, EURid (the .EU domain), CENTR and RNIDS attended the workshop. Official topics covered the methods, ways and issues of charging for services, as well as the organisation of customer support. Given that the event was also attended by representatives of highly developed Internet markets (.EU, .FR, .NL, .SI, .SE domains, etc.), valued experience was exchanged and new ideas, still being in the development phase, presented.
