Applications
Applications are open until October 5, 2026 and can be submitted via the following link.
Who can apply? Final‑year students of computer science and technical faculties, young developers, network engineers and information security professionals from Serbia, the region and any other country from which participants are willing to travel to Belgrade for the competition.
After the application period closes, teams (participants) will receive information about the next stages of the competition, including the exact schedule and links to access the webinars.
DNS webinars
Preparatory webinars on DNS, the basics of DNS security and DNSSEC will be held:
- October 7 in the afternoon (the exact time will be communicated to the registered teams in due course)
- October 14 during the day (the exact time will be communicated to the registered teams in due course)
The webinars will be led by Ulrich Wisser of ICANN, with the participation of other hackathon mentors.
Submission of teams proposals
It’s your turn to suggest how DNS can be made more secure.
You will propose a topic and an outline of the solution you would like to develop. The proposed topic will be one of the criteria used to determine your score and earn your place in the next stage of the competition.
Submit your ideas by midnight on October 22.
Teams selection
Up to 10 teams, with up to five members each, will be selected to participate in the competition.
Team selection criteria:
- Existing qualifications
- Attendance at the webinars
- Quality of the proposed solution
The teams selected to participate in the competition will be announced on October 27.
Competition
The selected teams will gather in the morning at the School of Computing.
We’ll introduce you to the next stage of the competition.
Work on the challenge starts at noon on October 31 and ends at noon on November 1.
The jury and mentors will evaluate your solutions. At 3 p.m., we’ll announce the winners!
