DIDS 2018 ‑ on Internet identity, heritage and business

The ninth annual conference on the Internet in Serbia ‑ DIDS 2018 ‑ held under the slogan “Guardians of Internet Identity”, was held 6th and 7th March in Belgrade, organised by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS). Some 450 visitors and more than 2000 viewers watching the online stream listened to talks and panel debates with 16 foreign and local experts on current topics from the digital world, such as personal data protection in the light of the GDPR, the role of digitalisation in the preservation of heritage and the importance of an online presence for business. We also celebrated the 10th birthday of the .RS domain, which, in the words of Tatjana Matić, state secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, has established Serbia’s brand on the global network: “Both RNIDS and the Republic of Serbia were timely in realising the importance of having a national domain and of the expansion of the use of the Internet. 10 years ago only 33% of citizens had Internet access. Digital heritage at DIDS 2018 conference

The identity of a people can be presented, preserved and promoted on the Internet through a digitalised heritage that is always accessible and searchable online. How is this done in Serbia and the region? Find out at the DIDS 2018 conference, organised by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS), 6th and 7th March, at the Metropol Palace Hotel, Belgrade. How the GDPR protects your cyber personality ‑ at DIDS 2018

The ninth annual conference on the Internet in Serbia ‑ DIDS 2018 ‑ is being held at the Metropol Palace Hotel, Belgrade, on 6th and 7th March, organised by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS), under the slogan “Guardians of Internet Identity”. The first block of DIDS traditionally addresses the hottest current Internet topic, which this year is the General Data Protection Regulation ‑ the GDPR. The common currency of the digital age isn’t the dollar and it isn’t bitcoin ‑ it’s private data. All of our smart devices are collecting it, as are sensors all around us, and other people’s computers, which we call the “cloud”. The services we use are also collecting it, and so are the institutions we communicate with. The data is processed, cross‑referenced and bundled up. Then it is shared, stolen or leaked ‑ or it is sold. It is used by individuals, criminals, companies, institutions and the security services. The Guardians of Internet Identity ‑ at DIDS 2018

The year when the Serbian .RS domain celebrates its tenth anniversary will also see the ninth time the best‑attended annual conference on the Internet ‑ DIDS 2018 ‑ is held in Serbia. The organiser is the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS) and the event will be held on 6th and 7th March at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade. The slogan of this year’s Serbian Internet Domains Day is “Guardians of Internet Identity”. The first block of DIDS, titled “Cyber Personality” will address the very current topic ‑ in Europe and worldwide ‑ of the GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation, which comes into force in the EU in late May and which will impact the way some companies in Serbia do business. Cyribusters 3: How to make the most of Cyrillic online

“When we began using computers we had no inkling of the extent to which they would change our life habits. The march of technology has also impacted the use of our traditional script. The Internet Conference: DIDS 2018

The ninth annual conference on the development of the Internet on the Serbian .RS and .СРБ domains ‑ DIDS 2018 ‑ will be held 6th and 7th March 2018 at Belgrade’s Metropol Palace Hotel, organised by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS). The programme of the Serbian Internet Domain Day event this year will be divided into three themed blocks, which some 15 professionals from home and abroad will take part in. The topic of the first block will be Internet privacy, with a focus on the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its implications for the business of legal entities in Serbia. The second block will look at digitisation in culture and science, with a particular focus on successful projects in this area, both internationally and in Serbia, and on how to ensure that the implementation of digital technologies in these areas yields the best possible results. October edition of RNIDS Info

Issue 36 of the RNIDS News corporate newsletter brings an overview of events at RNIDS and in the local and global Internet community in the third quarter of 2017. An electoral session of the RNIDS Conference of Co‑founders was held, and there were a number of staff changes in the RNIDS Office. The preparation phase for an initial set of enactments governing the operation of RNIDS accredited registrars was completed. Over the summer RNIDS also provided a large amount of useful content, launched via its summer educational and promotional campaign. A Cooperation Agreement was signed with the Belgrade Milutin Milanković Association. Market partnership with RNIDS accredited registrars was also continued. Materials of the workshop: "IPv6 application in cellular and non‑cellular networks" available

The Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS), in partnership with the ISOC, held a free workshop on the topic "IPv6 application in cellular and non‑cellular networks" on 22nd November 2017. The video recording of the workshop and accompanying materials made available here, are intended for network operators, Internet service providers and academic and state institutions. In the first part of the workshop there is a discussion of the basics of IPv6 and the transition from IPv4 from the perspective of network operators, Internet service providers and academic and state institutions. The second part of the workshop is somewhat more technical and concerns the introduction of IPv6 and IPv6‑only networks (including IPv4‑as‑a‑service for end users). Internet business basics training for entrepreneurs in Pančevo

The Serbian National Internet Domain Name Registry Foundation (RNIDS) and the company Madnet, in partnership with the Pančevo Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organised a one‑day free educational workshop on 28th November 2017, for business‑owners from Pančevo and the surrounding area. This event was another in a series organised by the RNIDS Foundation across Serbia, and was hosted by Madnet, an accredited registrar for Serbian ccTLDs, whose owner and director Nenad Orlić kicked off proceedings by greeting all those attending. RNIDS in Vrnjačka Banja: educating about online business basics

The Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS), in partnership with the municipality of Vrnjačka Banja, held a one‑day free educational workshop on 24th October 2017 for all those interested in hearing more about the basics of doing business on the Internet. This event was another in a series organised by the RNIDS Foundation all over Serbia in cooperation with local partners. Panel discussion "Internet Security Problems and Solutions" organized by RNIDS

The Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS) has for the fifth year in a row now organised an event as part of European Cyber Security Month. With today’s society becoming increasingly interconnected, and relying on Internet technology to function, the topic of "Internet Security ‑ Problems and Solutions" was settled on for this year’s panel discussion, held 17th October in the Centre for the Promotion of Science. Entrepreneurs in Leskovac learn the basics of Internet presence

Big Internet for Small Companies was the subtitle of a free workshop provided by the Serbian National Internet Domain Name Registry Foundation (RNIDS) in partnership with the Association of Entrepreneurs of Leskovac, on 6th October 2017 in Leskovac. This event was one in a series of educational events organised by the RNIDS Foundation all over Serbia in cooperation with local partners.
