The Internet Conference: DIDS 2018

01/02/2018

The ninth annual conference on the development of the Internet on the Serbian .RS and .СРБ domains – DIDS 2018 – will be held 6th and 7th March 2018 at Belgrade’s Metropol Palace Hotel, organised by the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS). The programme of the Serbian Internet Domain Day event this year will be divided into three themed blocks, which some 15 professionals from home and abroad will take part in.

The topic of the first block will be Internet privacy, with a focus on the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its implications for the business of legal entities in Serbia.

The second block will look at digitisation in culture and science, with a particular focus on successful projects in this area, both internationally and in Serbia, and on how to ensure that the implementation of digital technologies in these areas yields the best possible results.

The third block will comprise a presentation of the results of the 2017 Digital Vitality Index of small, micro- and medium enterprises in Serbia study, carried out for the first time in Serbia.

The second day of the DIDS 2018 conference will host the Regional TLD Forum, which gathers together representatives from the top-level country domain registries in the region and focuses on domain-related topics.

DIDS 2017 brought together more than 400 visitors, 30 participants from Serbia and abroad and 40 journalists. This, the largest Internet conference in Belgrade, will be a unique opportunity for visitors to exchange experiences and network with a great number of Internet professionals from Serbia and further afield.

As previously, DIDS is free for all visitors, but registration is required due to limited space. Visitor registrations begin at the end of February, via the website at  dids.rs and дидс.срб.
